Lafayette Central Catholic (22-5) opened up Sectional play with a 13-1 win over Rensselaer in six innings. Lucas Gerkey was dominant in his four innings on the mound striking out five Bombers and allowed no hits and walked just one. The Knights offense pounded out 13 hits. Hudson Gutwein, Jackson Cain, Isaiah Hopkins and Brennan VanKirk each had two hits. Cain's two hits were a double and a triple. The Knights will take on Benton Central on Saturday at 1pm.
