A back and forth affair at North Vermillion saw the Knights capture the Sectional 53 Championship over the Covington Trojans 50-40. The Knights closed out the game with a 17-5 run in the 4th quarter. Ray Clayton led the Knights with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Mikey Stapleton also had 13 points and 6 rebounds. Thomas Henry led the defensive charge on Covington’s leading scoring, holding him to 11 points on 4-16 shooting, while forcing him into 8 turnovers. The win moves the Knights into next Saturday’s Regional Championship game at Frankfort against the Clinton Prairie Gophers at 4 PM
