Lafayette, Ind. - The Central Catholic boys C Team fell to Rossville in a hard-fought battle on Monday night in McHale Gym. The undermanned Knights came out ready to compete against the Hornets. Brett Parker came out hot with two first quarter threes. Leighton Pollert added a third, and the Knights narrowly trailed 16-12 after one quarter. Parker quickly picked up his second foul at the end of the first, and had to sit for much of the second quarter. The Knights continued to battle though and held Rossville to only six points in the period. Unfortunately, CC only mustered five and trailed 22-17 at the half. The third quarter saw the Knights fight back and take a brief lead before the Hornets extended their pressure and took advantage of a tired Knights squad. Central Catholic couldn’t secure some timely rebounds and get some key stops and the game slipped away. Parker led all scorers with 17 points. Pollert had nine and Chase Rooze added four for the Knights. The C team will be back in action on January 20 when they travel to Seeger.
