Rossville, Ind. - The Central Catholic JV Knights (3-3) went on the road to the Hornets Nest and defeated Rossville 42-37 in the final game of 2024. The Knights jumped out to a quick 7-3 lead behind a three from Jackson Newkirk and a couple of quick buckets by David Heath. Kolton Minnich added a three and the Knights led 10-8 after one. The second quarter was a low scoring affair and the Knights went in at halftime leading 17-13. The third quarter saw the Knights push the lead to double figures before the Hornets battled back. The sophomore trio of Heath, Minnich and Newkirk proved to be too much. They combined for 17 second-half points to seal the win for CC. Newkirk led the way with 12, Heath added 11, Minnich had 8 for the Knights. The Knights have two weeks off before facing Rensselaer on January 4 at McHale Gymnasium.
