Lafayette Central Catholic (22-6) opened up Sectional play with at 10-0 win over Covington in six innings. Lucas Gerkey threw a no-hitter and struck out five Trojans. Gerkey’s RBI single in the first plated Hudson Gutwein and then Jackson Cain followed that up with a towering two run homer to deep left center. Cain also added a single in the Knights six run sixth inning. LCC will play Fountain Central next Monday at 11am in the Sectional semis.
