There's our crew! Excellent running, 9 PRs at the culmination of a great season!

The Knights concluded their season with great performances, at the Indiana Middle School Cross Country Championships. Hundreds of harriers from across the state descended on the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country course for a final round of racing in Cross Country Town U.S.A. The Knights raced in the 'Small Schools JV Open' category. In the girls race, Cate Thiel ran strong despite battling a bit of illness, finishing 17th overall of 187 runners, in 12:57. Thiel holds the distinction of being the first Knight across the line in all 8 of our contests this season. Lydia Worster and Amelia Vogel executed well, hanging together and finishing 2nd and 3rd for the Knights, with 14:04 and 14:12 respectively. Big day for Worster, posting another PR at the culmination of our season. Continuing excellent performances by Gianna Starr and Ella Dwyer, 4th and 5th position scorers, both posting new PRs of 15:36 and 16:21 respectively. Collectively, our Knights placed 10th of 17 teams, score 257. In the boys race, veteran Andrew Thiel put up a terrific battle to the end, finishing 2nd overall of 269 runners. Thiel has led the Knights across the finish line in all 8 contests this season and finishes his JH XC career with an excellent PR performance of 10:44. A lot of excitement, as the remaining four scorers for the Knights ran the race of their lives, all posting new PRs at season end. Harry Sweet 2nd 11:37, George Thiel 3rd 11:55, Micah Worster 4th 12:01, Keegan White 5th 12:10. Big day for veteran Beckett White, as he turned in a great run and caps his JH XC career with a 12:30 PR performance. Collectively, the boys crew placed 4th of 21 teams, score 116. When you're deep into the season, at the peak of your powers, it is ever more difficult to achieve a new best. Our Knights demonstrated that they're still harnessing potential even at the end of our season. Nine new PRs and two runners just a couple seconds off PR. Good show Knights. So ends the 2026 Junior High Cross Country season. They excited and impressed all of us with their journey from the early days of summer conditioning to fierce and successful performances throughout their entire season!
