Our Knights competed in very fair weather with 12 schools from around the region, at the Greater Lafayette City/County meet at the Tippecanoe Amphitheater on 22 September. The crew turned excellent performances, with 8 PRs and three near PRs. In the boys race, Andrew Thiel led the way for the Knights, finishing 12th of 237 runners. Thiel has been the first Knight across the line in all 6 races so far this season. This evening, he secured a big PR of 10:59, all the while contending with being tripped up during the race. Harry Sweet, a rookie no more, raced very strong, finishing second for the Knights and with a new PR of 11:45. Big day for Keegan White, pushing the pace and scoring third for the Knights, and with a new PR of 12:21. Micah Worster and George Thiel rounded out the scoring for the Knights. Collectively, the Knights placed 5th of 12 scoring teams. Score 169. In the girls race, Cate Thiel was the first Knight across the line, finishing 15th of 148 runners. Cate has been the first Knight across the line in all 6 races so far this season. This evening, she had another big PR breakthrough, turning in a 12:51 performance. Lydia Worster, Amelia Vogel, and Gianna Starr showed us excellent racing this evening, all setting new PRs of 14:10, 14:27, and 16:10 respectively. Veteran Julia Duso rounded out the scoring for the Knights. Big day for Ella Dwyer, who just decided to set a one-minute improvement; new PR of 17:04! Collectively, the Knights placed 8th of 11 scoring teams. Score 208. Next up, our runners are headed to Benton Central to compete in the WCJC Invitational. Our season is approaching its peak!
