The Lafayette Central Catholic Knights defended their home court with a 3-0 sweep over the Crawfordsville Athenians, winning by scores of 25-17, 25-14, and 28-26. Strong passing throughout the night allowed the Knights to stay in system and led to an extremely efficient offensive performance. Central Catholic controlled the first two sets, using consistent serve receive and a balanced attack to keep Crawfordsville from gaining momentum. The Athenians responded with their strongest effort of the night in the third set, pushing the Knights point-for-point in a battle that went beyond 25. Central Catholic stayed composed down the stretch, fighting off Crawfordsville's challenge and closing out the set 28-26 to complete the sweep. With the victory, the Knights improve to 12-5 on the season. Central Catholic will be back on the road Wednesday night when the Knights travel to Guerin Catholic for an interdiocesan battle.
