The Knights took down the Twin Lakes Indians in a five-set thriller Thursday night, earning a hard-fought 3-2 victory. Despite the intense heat inside the TLHS gym, both teams competed hard throughout the match. After splitting the first two sets, the Knights narrowly dropped the third before battling back to win the final two sets. The Knights secured the victory by scores of 25-18, 18-25, 24-26, 25-21, and 15-13. A pair of huge blocks and several timely digs late in the fourth and fifth sets proved to be the difference. With the win, the Knights improved to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the Hoosier Conference. The Knights return to practice Friday to recover and fine-tune a few things before traveling to Rossville for Saturday’s Hornet Invite. The tournament will provide another strong test as the team continues preparing for the IHSAA state tournament series, which begins in approximately one month. The Knights open pool play at 9 a.m. against Clinton Central and will face Lewis Cass at approximately 11 a.m. Following Pool D competition, the teams will be reseeded for the afternoon bracket.
