The Frontier Falcons entered McHale Gymnasium on Tuesday night with an 8-2 record and ready to battle, but the Knights were prepared to carry their positive momentum from the weekend onto their home court. The intensity was high from the beginning, both on the court and in the stands. The Knights’ student section set the tone with a powerful rendition of the national anthem before providing energy and support throughout the match. The opening set was tightly contested until the Knights took control late with an impressive offensive performance to secure the victory. Frontier responded aggressively in the second set, putting the Knights on the defensive early. The Knights mounted a comeback but ran out of points, allowing the Falcons to even the match. The Knights came out on fire in the third set and were dominant from the first pass. The offense was firing on all cylinders, while intense focus from behind the service line helped produce a commanding set victory. Set four was even more intense, with the teams trading points throughout much of the frame. With the match on the line, the Knights once again took control from the service line, dominating the final six points to seal the victory. The win improves the Knights’ overall record to 6-4. After a busy stretch of competition, the team will return to the practice gym to continue fine-tuning its game ahead of next week. The Knights return to action on Tuesday, September 8, when they host the Lafayette Jefferson Bronchos. Junior varsity begins at 6 p.m., with the varsity match immediately following. Let’s pack McHale Gymnasium and support this fun and exciting Knights volleyball team! Go Knights!
