Knights Shut Out Crispus Attucks 38-0 in Home Opener LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Lafayette Central Catholic opened the home portion of its season in impressive fashion Friday night, as the Knights defeated Indianapolis Crispus Attucks 38-0 at LaRocca Field. The Knights controlled the game on both sides of the football, with the LCC defense turning in a dominant performance to secure the shutout. Eli Thompson led the defensive effort with a huge night, recording 16 tackles, four tackles for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery. Chase Hittle was a disruptive force up front, finishing with four quarterback pressures, a tackle for loss, a sack and a forced fumble. Ethan Miller also helped lead the defensive effort with three tackles, five assists, a tackle for loss, two quarterback pressures and a fumble recovery. While the defense kept Crispus Attucks off the scoreboard, the Knights' passing attack was clicking throughout the night. Quarterback Dru Stapleton turned in an outstanding performance, completing 30 of 33 passes for 312 yards and five touchdowns. His longest completion of the night went for 37 yards. Wyatt Williams was Stapleton's top target, hauling in 11 passes for 114 yards and three touchdowns, including a long reception of 24 yards. Parker Campbell added seven receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown, while Tyler Schmidt finished with five catches for 76 yards and a touchdown. LCC's special teams unit also turned in a solid performance, helping the Knights control field position and complete an all-around team effort. The 38-0 victory gave the Knights a successful opening night at LaRocca Field and continued a strong start to the season, highlighted by an explosive passing attack and a defense that refused to surrender a point.
