Boys 3k start, Mav Stampede

The Knights competed with 16 schools from around the region at the Mav Stampede, Wea Ridge Middle School. The crew ran well on a technical course and against tough competition. In the girls race, Cate Thiel led the Knights with a 13:30 finish, 23rd overall. Lydia Worster and Amelia Vogel ran strong finishing 2nd, 3rd for the Knights, Vogel also setting a new PR of 14:48. Gianna Starr and Julia Duso executed well on this hilly course, rounding out the 4th, 5th scoring positions for the Knights. Big day for Starr, a 40 second improvement and a new 16:23 PR. Big day for Ella Dywer, about to loose the title 'rookie'. She ran great and nabbed a new PR of 18:09! Nice running against tough competition. Knights collectively placed 11th of 14 teams, score 258. In the boys race, veteran Andrew Thiel led the Knights with an 12th place finish overall, of 287 runners, in a time of 11:15. Harry Sweet executed well in his second race as a Knight, securing the 2nd scoring position for the Knights and a repeat of his 12:02 PR set last week. George Thiel and Keegan White ran strong, finishing 3rd and 4th for the Knights. Veteran Micah Worster rounded out the scoring for our crew, taking 5th position. Likewise, nice running against tough competition. Knights collectively placed 6th of 16 teams, score 195. Next week, your Knights will focus on practice and further fitness refinement, then they're back in action at the Hornet Invitational on 8 September. "Running never truly gets easier, you just get better at shutting down that little voice that tells you to quit."
