Knights Roll Past Mitchell, 63-6 The Lafayette Central Catholic Knights turned in a complete performance on offense, defense and special teams, rolling to a 63-6 victory over the Mitchell Blue Jackets. The Knights' offense was efficient through the air and on the ground, while the defense consistently created pressure and forced turnovers throughout the night. Stapleton Leads Knights Offense Quarterback Dru Stapleton led the Central Catholic attack, completing 12 of 20 passes for 141 yards and four touchdowns. Stapleton also found the end zone on the ground with a rushing touchdown. Parker Campbell led the receiving corps with six catches for 50 yards and two touchdowns. Wyatt Williams, Joey Metzger and Malachi Johnson each added touchdown receptions for the Knights. Isaac Diaz added a rushing touchdown. Central Catholic's offensive line set the tone up front, providing Stapleton with a clean pocket in the passing game while consistently creating running lanes for the Knights' backs. Defense Creates Big Plays The Knights' defense delivered several game-changing plays of its own. Chase Hittle turned in a standout performance, recording three tackles for loss and two quarterback hurries. Hittle also blocked a Mitchell field goal, scooped up the loose ball and returned it for a touchdown, providing one of the biggest defensive plays of the night. Landon Brand intercepted two Mitchell passes, returning one for a touchdown, while Lukas Gutwein added another interception for the Central Catholic defense. Eli Thompson led the Knights with eight tackles, while Landon Gaskin finished with seven. Jackson Sprunger also recovered a fumble as the Knights repeatedly came away with takeaways. Special Teams Finish the Job Central Catholic was perfect following its touchdowns, with Alex Mayorga connecting on all eight of his PAT attempts The contributions in all three phases added up to a convincing 63-6 victory for the Knights.
