Lafayette Central Catholic (22-6) found itself trailing 7-0 after two innings but managed to rally to defeat Perry Meridian Tuesday night on the road. Isaiah Hopkins belted a a grand slam in the fourth inning to cut the gap to 7-6. The Knights tied it later in the inning when Alex Schummer scored on a wild pitch. Both teams scored one run in the fifth inning before both teams would go scoreless over the next four innings. The Knights finally broke through in the top of the 10th. Gus Sandberg scored on a fielders choice before Kolton Minnich knoced in two more with a ringing double to left. LJ Whitford followed that up with a sharp single to center to score Minnich. Tatum Adriano threw four shutout innings and fanned five. Schummer pitched the final two innings to pick up the win. Whiford finished with three hits while Hopkins, Stapleton and Minnich each had a pair of hits.
