Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights With Tough Game Against Seeger Varsity Patriots

By GameChanger Media Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights couldn't keep up with Seeger Varsity Patriots and fell 23-5 on Tuesday. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights first got on the board when Embree Boutelle singled, scoring one run. Seeger Varsity Patriots flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the second, scoring 10 runs on seven hits to take the lead, 11-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Lyla Badger that drove in two. A double by Emma Winder extended the Seeger Varsity Patriots lead to 13-4 in the bottom of the third inning. Seeger Varsity Patriots scored 10 runs on seven hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Badger singled, scoring two runs, Vivienne Middleton singled, scoring one run, Winder tripled, scoring one run, Layla Cavanaugh singled, scoring one run, Laney Duchemin drew a walk, scoring one run, Aubrey Spear singled, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Badger singled, scoring one run. Badger earned the win for Seeger Varsity Patriots. The pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out seven and walking one. Kendyl McCammon took the loss for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. The starter went three and one-third innings, surrendering 20 runs (18 earned) on 17 hits, striking out two and walking six. Aaliyah Cordell drove the middle of the lineup, leading Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Meghan Duffy, Cordell, Hannah Lee, McCammon, and Boutelle each collected one hit for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game. Seeger Varsity Patriots accumulated 19 hits in the game. Middleton and Badger were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected four hits for Seeger Varsity Patriots while hitting back-to-back. Badger drove the middle of the lineup, leading Seeger Varsity Patriots with five runs batted in. The pitcher went 4-for-5 on the day. Winder, Cavanaugh, Olivia Reitz, and Spear each collected multiple hits for Seeger Varsity Patriots. Reitz stole two bases. Seeger Varsity Patriots worked the count all day, piling up seven walks. Seeger Varsity Patriots ran wild on the base paths, amassing six stolen bases for the game.
