Lady Knights Rally but Come Up Short Against the Indians

By GameChanger Media Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights couldn't keep up with Twin Lakes Varsity Indians and fell 16-6 on Wednesday. Twin Lakes Varsity Indians jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Macee Rice singled, scoring two runs, Morgan Rodziewicz singled, scoring two runs, and Rylyn Rush hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Twin Lakes Varsity Indians scored five runs on four hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Leah Shrock singled, scoring two runs, Quinn Gilford singled, scoring one run, Rodziewicz drew a walk, scoring one run, and Maddy Hook grounded out, scoring one run. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights scored six runs on five hits in the top of the fifth inning. Lilly Frey tripled, scoring one run, Angela Buczkowski singled, scoring one run, Embree Boutelle singled, scoring two runs, Hannah Lee grounded out, scoring one run, and Aaliyah Cordell singled, scoring one run. Twin Lakes Varsity Indians scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the sixth inning. Madalyn Bird drew a walk, scoring one run, Shrock singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, and Rice singled, scoring two runs. Bird earned the win for Twin Lakes Varsity Indians. The starter surrendered five hits and six runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking three. Meghan Duffy took the loss for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. The pitcher went four innings, giving up 10 runs (nine earned) on eight hits, striking out four and walking five. Boutelle provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights with two runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Duffy, Cordell, Frey, Buczkowski, and Boutelle each collected one hit for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. Twin Lakes Varsity Indians piled up 10 hits in the game. Rice went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Twin Lakes Varsity Indians in hits. Twin Lakes Varsity Indians had patience at the plate, piling up 11 walks for the game. Miya Clerget, Shrock, and Myley Spriggs led the team with two bases on balls each. Shrock stole two bases. Twin Lakes Varsity Indians stole eight bases in the game.
