Lady Knights Battle Back but Come up Short Against Bombers

By GameChanger Media Embree Boutelle collected three hits in five at bats, but Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights lost to Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers 17-8 on Thursday. Boutelle singled in the fifth inning, singled in the sixth inning, and singled in the eighth inning. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Aubrey Kosta that drove in two. Moore earned the win for Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers. The right-handed pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking none. Kendyl McCammon took the loss for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. The pitcher went one and one-third innings, giving up nine runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking three. Meghan Duffy started in the circle for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. The pitcher gave up eight hits and eight runs (one earned) over six innings, striking out two and walking three. Davis opened the game for Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers. The starter allowed nine hits and eight runs (three earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out five and walking none. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights tallied 11 hits in the game. McCammon and Boutelle were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. Lee and Aaliyah Cordell each collected multiple hits for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers amassed 15 hits in the game. Davis, Hannon, Crabtree, and Taylor Weems each collected three hits for Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers. Davis, Hannon, and Crabtree each drove in three runs for Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers. Laney Westfall paced Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Weems stole three bases. Rensselaer Central Varsity Lady Bombers stole five bases in the game.
