By GameChanger Media Hannah Lee drove in five runs on two hits to lead Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights past Tri-Central Varsity Trojan's 17-8 on Friday. Lee hit a home run to center field in the sixth inning, scoring three runs, and singled in the seventh inning, scoring two. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights got on the board in the top of the first inning after Embree Boutelle singled to left field, Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights scored on a passed ball, and Kendyl McCammon doubled to right field, each scoring one run. A fielder's choice by McCammon extended the Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights lead to 4-0 in the top of the third inning. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights scored six runs on three hits in the top of the sixth inning. Boutelle doubled, scoring two runs, Lee homered to center field, scoring three runs, and an error scored one run. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights scored six runs on four hits in the top of the seventh inning. Meghan Duffy singled, scoring one run, Lee singled, scoring two runs, McCammon tripled, scoring two runs, and Lilly Frey hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run. Duffy earned the win for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and eight runs (seven earned) over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking eight. Tinsley Ormes took the loss for Tri-Central Varsity Trojan's. The righty went four innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on three hits, striking out two and walking three. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights piled up 14 hits in the game. McCammon and Boutelle each collected three hits for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. Corinne Zehring and Duffy each collected multiple hits for Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights had a strong eye at the plate, collecting six walks for the game. Angela Buczkowski and Zehring led the team with two bases on balls each. Zehring stole three bases. Lafayette Central Catholic Varsity Knights stole four bases in the game. Ormes provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Tri-Central Varsity Trojan's with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Leadoff hitter Claire Conrad led Tri-Central Varsity Trojan's with two hits in four at bats. Emily Maruszewski paced Tri-Central Varsity Trojan's with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating eight walks for the game. Conrad stole three bases. Tri-Central Varsity Trojan's stole five bases in the game.
