Freshmen Defeat North Vermillion

By Matthew Newkirk | Feb 2, 2026 8:48 PM

LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The freshmen Knights got back in the win column after a two game skid by defeating North Vermillion 39-24 on Monday night. The Knights jumped on the Falcons early behind Landon Brand's nine first-quarter points. Defensive pressure led to runouts and CC led 11-3 at the end of one period. The Knights extended their lead as five players scored in the second quarter. They entered the locker room up 20-11. The undermanned Falcons didn't fold though as they came out of the locker room and knocked down two threes and cut the lead to just three. The Knights retaliated and Lane Devlin hit three mid-range jumpers in a row to seal the victory. Eight of twelve Knights scored on the evening, led by Brand's 16. The win moves CC to 9-4 on the season. They wrap up the regular season tomorrow night as they host West Lafayette in McHale Gym at 6:00 PM.
