CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The Central Catholic freshman (8-2) made it six wins in a row with a 43-39 win over Crawfordsville on Thursday night. The Athenians mixed defenses all night, forcing the Knights into multiple adjustments on a night where they were already adjusting to a new starting lineup. Landon Brand moved into the starting point guard role, but he remained the key cog in the offense, scoring 15 points to lead the Knights for the fourth straight game. Five of those points came from the free-throw line, which was a big source of points for CC. The team hit 13 total free throws as they continued to attack the paint against the zone all night. The outside shooting remained cold for the Knights, hitting only two three-point attempts on the evening. One of those was a big fourth-quarter corner three from Tyler Schmidt, who finished the night with 10 points. Owen Clute and Josh Galarza each added seven to round out the scoring for the Knights. Central Catholic is back in action on Monday as they host Western Boone at 6:00 PM in McHale Gymnasium.
