In the opening game of the WCJC tournament, the Central Catholic 8th grade boys defeated Twin Lakes 41-25 to advance to the second-round matchup Saturday morning against West Lafayette. CC was down two starters due to injury, but despite that, played their best offensive game of the season against the Twin Lakes 2-3 zone, moving the ball sharply to find the open shooters. Seven Knights got in on the scoring, led by Leo Baker with 20, and Gavin Puetz and Nicky Brown with 6. Isaac Tyrie set the tone early with physical defense against the Indians, and the Knights never let up, holding the opponent to 5 total second half points. CC is looking forward to exacting revenge on West Lafayette Saturday morning, in an attempt to advance to the WCJC finals.
