LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Central Catholic freshmen (7-2) were back in action on Wednesday night as they faced Purdue Polytechnic Englewood in McHale Gymnasium. The Knights came away victorious, defeating the Techies 26-21 in a frantic game. The Knights gave a tremendous defensive effort, holding Poly to only 10 first -half points and 22 points for the game. However, the Techies also took the Knights out of many of the things they wanted to do offensively. For the second straight game, the Knights were cold from the field as they failed to hit a three-pointer for the first time this season. After going scoreless in the first quarter, Landon Brand found his footing and once again led the Knights in scoring with eight points. Alex Gonzales chipped in seven. After the game, Gonzales got called up to JV, ending his freshman season. The Knights look to make it six in a row tomorrow night as they head to Crawfordsville for a 6:00 PM tipoff.
