The Central Catholic Knights 8th grade boy's basketball team defeated the Benton Central Bison 32-16 tonight. From the first possession, the Knights came with improved energy and toughness, and held the Bison to 5 first half points. CC was led in scoring by Leo Baker with 15 (5 threes), Isaac Tyrie and Connor Brand with 8. The three centers, Cruze Guyer, Nicky Brown and Ben Cornelius, dominated the boards for the Knights all evening. The CC B team wrapped up their season and fell to BC 34-28. The Knights were led in scoring by William Zumdahl with 9 (including 2 And-1 left-handed layups!), 7 from AJ Stevens (including a buzzer beating 3 at the end of the 1st quarter!), and 6 from Blake Nagle. Overall on the evening, 21 Knights played in the 2 games, and 21 Knights can say they gave their all the entire time they were in the game, a coaches dream! The A team hosts Covington in the Knights Invitational this Saturday starting at 9.
