RUSSIAVILLE, Ind. - The Central Catholic freshman boys team won its first game back from Christmas break over Western 59-44. Both teams were hot from outside, combining for 17 threes in the game, nine from the Knights. The Knights were led by Owen Clute who got off the bus ready to shoot. He had eight points in the opening stanza, setting the tone for the game. Alex Gonzales added seven early points. The Knights doubled up the Panthers 24-12 in the first. CC never looked back as they never lost a quarter. Four Knights ended in double figures Clute (20), Gonzales (12, Tyler Schmidt (12), and Landon Brand (10). The freshman team will be back in action tomorrow as part of a triple-header with McCutcheon. JV plays at 5:30 PM in the main gym, the freshmen in the auxiliary gym at 6:00 PM, and the varsity at 7:30 PM in the main gym.
