VEEDERSBURG, Ind. - The freshman Knights got back in the win column with a 43-27 win over the Fountain Central Mustangs on Wednesday night. The Knights jumped out to an early 18-1 lead behind 10 first-quarter points from Alex Gonzales. From that point on, the Mustangs were able to muck up the game and the Knights obliged with some sloppy ball handling, uncharacteristic turnovers and missed layups. Even with the less-than-ideal performance, CC outscored Fountain Central 15-14 in the second half. Gonzales ended with 12 points to lead the way. Owen Clute added 11. Eight Knights logged points in the game. The Knights don't take the court again until January 6, when they head to Rossville to take on the Hornets at 6:00 PM.
