Knights Wrestlers Fall to Rossville

Dorinda Andrews Signs Letter of Intent to Wrestle at University of the Cumberlands

On Wednesday, May 22nd, senior Dorinda Andrews signed a letter of intent to wrestle in college for the University of the Cumberlands Patriots Girls Wrestling team. It was a year of first for Dorinda.  This was her first season wrestling in high school, she had been the team manager since she was in 6th grade. 

Wrestlers End Season at Semi-State

Senior Jordan Turpin, Sophomore Dakota Skees, and Freshman Dominic Skees advanced to the East Chicago Semi-State on Saturday, February 10th.  coming out of the Logansport Regional, the three wrestlers had captured 4th seeds, earning a match against the top seed from another Regional.  This proved to be the difference in the day as all three

A School Record 3 Wrestlers Advance to Semi-State

On Saturday at the Logansport Regional, 3 of the 5 wrestlers competing advanced to the East Chicago Central Semi-State next weekend.  106 Dominic Skees, 138 Dakota Skees, and 145 Jordan Turpin all finished in 4th place in their weight classes earning a trip to Semi-State. 106 Freshman Dominic Skees started the day by beating Jones

Knights Advance 5 Wrestlers to the Logansport Regional

On Saturday the Varsity Wrestlers participated in the Jeff Sectionals.  Going in, the mindset for the wrestlers was one match at a time.  The first round was an elimination round, win or your day is over.  126 Noah O’Donnell and 170 Peter Brown both fell in the first round.  152 Jesus Escalera and 220 Nathan

Jordan Turpin wins Hoosier Conference Wrestling Tourney

The Knights participated in the Hoosier Conference Wrestling Tourney on Saturday, Jan. 13th at Western HS. Jordan Turpin captured the 145 Championship with a (Pin Fall 1:17) over Tipton’s Gabe Smith.  Jordan advanced to the finals with pin falls over Twin Lakes and Western. Jordan finished the day 3-0 improving his season record to 28-4.

Varsity Wrestling at Jeff Holiday Duals

On Thursday December 28th and Friday December 29th the Varsity Wrestling team competed in the Jeff Holiday Duals.  The Knights wrestled 10 duals over 2 days against tough competition.
