It was a great end to a season filled with hard work, teamwork and improvement. Central Catholic beat West Lafayette for a second time this season to win the City Championship. The Knights had an incredible season finishing 18-2. It was a fitting end to the season with the team playing outstanding team defense and sharing the ball well. Werth finished the season strong with a great floor game and led the team in scoring for the 15th time this season with a game high 13 points. Meister came up big for the Knights scoring 4 of her 8 points during a 2nd quarter run by the Red Devils. Lutz scored 6 points and created many easy scoring opportunities for her teammates. Poindexter played great individual defense, was 100% from the free throw, and ended the game with 6 points. Cochran finished the game with 3 points on a converted 3-point play, a couple of steals and a few blocked shots. Riley helped steady the offense and rebounded the ball well. She finished with 3 points. Thompson and King both came in and played hard on both ends of the floor. King added in 2 points. A special thanks to our assistant coaches Tom Riley and Corey Fletcher for all of their time and energy this season.
