The #10 ranked 1A Central Catholic Knights dueled the #7 ranked Class 2A Lebanon Tigers to a 1-1 tie in regular time, of the championship match of the Lebanon Invitational Tournament. The Tigers scored a breakaway, to take the lead, early in the second half. But, with 10 minutes remaining in the match, Eli Walker sent a ball across the middle for a strong finish by Joaquin Gallo. Being a tournament set-up, the match went directly to a penalty kick shoot-out, with the Knights matching shots with the Tigers 4 to 4. In the sudden death rounds that followed, Central Catholic goalkeeper, Luke Cooley, was able to make three spectacular saves, keeping the Knights’ hopes alive, until the fifth round of shots, when Jack Behr was able to find the corner of the net, to earn the win and tournament championship. Congratulations Knights!
