Central Catholic’s defensive intensity proved to be the difference in a convincing 77-42 win over Southwood to open Sectional play. Southwood struggled on the offensive end of the court the entire game as the Knights held them 21 points under their season scoring average.
Offensively the Knights moved the ball very well which led to a season high 27 team assists. David Schwartz was the recipient of many of the good passes as he scored a game-high 25 points. Schwartz also contributed 6 assists and 3 steals. Carson Barrett had another solid all-around game with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists. AJ Bordenet chipped in 10 points and Clark Barrett provided a nice spark off the bench with 7 points and 9 rebounds.
Central Catholic (20-4) next plays Tri-Central on Friday at 7:30 in 2nd round sectional action at Tri-Central.
