The Lady Knights showed early and often that they had too much firepower for Western to contain. The Knights had 5 shots on goal in the first ten minutes of the game. Junior Karsyn Cherry broke the scoreless tie in the 12th minute and then added 2 more goals in the next three minutes off of assists from Senior Captain Mayah Love and from Senior Captain Caroline Lutz, giving the Lady Knights a comfortable 3-0 lead. Freshman McKenna Lutz made a nice pass to Sophomore Lili Tribble who was able to slide the ball past the keeper at the 26-minute mark and then five minutes later McKenna scored a goal of her own off of a nice assist from Senior Captain Hailey Fallen. With 5 minutes to go in the half, Caroline and Karsyn hooked up again allowing Karsy to record her 4th goal of the game. Caroline then scored a goal of her own giving CC a 7-0 halftime lead. The Western Lady Panthers came out fast in the 2nd half, scoring a goal within the first 40 seconds. Caroline Lutz then showed her athleticism and skill with the soccer ball going practically end to end and placing the ball past the Panther keeper for her 2nd goal of the game. Hailey Fallen worked the ball deep into the left side of Western’s penalty box and then made a great pass across the face of the goal where Sophomore McKenzie King was able to get a foot on the ball and send it into the goal giving the Knights a 9-1 lead. Four minutes later, Freshman Lizzie Cochran received a pass from Sophomore Nathalya Medrano and blasted a shot from 20 yards out that the keeper had no chance of stopping. The Lady Knights subbed frequently in the 2nd half getting every member of the team into the game. The win was a complete TEAM win over a good opponent giving the Lady Knights a 6-2 record. Well done Ladies!
