The Freshmen Boys Basketball team beat McCutcheon 46-28 in the opening round of Area Tournament on 2-8-21, improving their record to 14-2 on the season. With solid team defense, the Knights were able to build a good halftime advantage, limiting the Mavs to five first half points to lead 25-5 at the break. The Mavs we’re able to come out strong in the third quarter, cutting the deficit to 12 points near the end of the period; but a Keaton Brooks 3-pointer in the closing seconds allowed the momentum to shift back in favor of the Knights going into 4th quarter. The Knights were able to build onto their lead to start the 4th quarter to secure the victory. Seven players were able to put points on the board for the Knights, led by Albert Schwartz (14 pts) and Keaton Brooks (10 pts). The Knights will receive a bye in the semifinals of the tournament and will advance to the championship game on Saturday.
