The CC 8th Grade Boys A team played their final home game of the season against Benton Central tonight. The Knights got off to a strong start scoring 13 – 1st quarter points including 6 from Clark Barrett and 3 from Donovan Bruce. In the 2nd their defense held the Bison to just 4 points as they took a 21-11 halftime lead. In the 2nd half, BC made a run to cut the lead to 6 – but the Knights made (most) of their free throws down the stretch to hold on to a 39-29 win. Clark Barrett played well again tonight scoring 16 points and pulling down 14 rebounds – and Justin Brady added 9 points and Keagan O’Connor finished with 7. The win wrapped up their WCJC conference schedule with a 6-5 record. In the B team game that followed – CC got off to a slow start scoring just 2 points in the 1st quarter. They played catch up the rest of the way – closing the gap to 5 early in the 4th quarter before falling to the Bison by a score of 29-22. Andrew Kline and Calvin Pickerill led CC in scoring with 5 points each – and Alex Denney added 2 points to go along with 5 rebounds and 8 blocks. Both teams play this weekend in the City Tournament at Tecumseh.
