The 7th grade football team came into the Wainwright game down their starting Quarterback and Running Back. The Knights had to install a new offensive and defensive scheme on Monday. The game was a back and forth battle played mostly at mid field and ending in a 0-0 tie at regulation. In overtime the Knights got the ball first and Thomas Henry burst through the line to score, followed by Brady Williams 2 point conversion, the first points all game. The Mustangs then scored on their first play from scrimmage. The Mustang put a big lineman in the backfield to try and power into the endzone, the Knights defense stonewalled the big man to seal the overtime victory 8-6. The 7th grade improve their record to 5-2 for the season.
The 8th grade came into the night having suffered a disappointing lost to Eastern Greentown on Tuesday. From the get go the team was focused and ready to play. The offensive line lead the way and set the tone early in the game. The Knights drove down field early in the first quarter and scored going up 8-0. The defense got the ball back in the second and once again the Knights marched down the field and scored leading at the half 16-0. The defense lead the way in the 2nd half keeping the Mustangs out of the endzone and the offense capped off the night with a final touchdown, the Knights prevailed 22-0. The 8th grade improve their record to 3-4 on the season.
