Coed Junior High Cross Country · Pickerill, Milks lead JH Cross Country to Victory at Clinton Prairie

The Knights raced well and were victorious against Sheridan, Clinton Central and host school Clinton Prairie, at Camp Cullom, on 1 October 2019.

In the boys race, the Knights were victorious! Throughout the race, veteran harrier Kipp Pickerill battled for the lead position with Clinton Prairie’s Hayden Kemple. Kipp lit it up in the final 200m and edged out Clinton Prairie right at the finish line, taking 1st place overall, with a time of 11:15. The Knights displayed extraordinary running throughout the trails of Camp Cullom, with 8 finishes in the top 20.


Team scores: Knights 1st-30 points (Pickerill-1, Friel-3, Rafacz-4, Boutelle-9, Siemers-13). Clinton Prairie 2nd-38. Clinton Central 3rd-72, Sheridan 4th-87.


In the girls race, the Knights were victorious as well! Veteran Emily Milks battled for the lead position throughout the race. She displayed an explosive finishing kick and took 2nd place overall, 4 seconds off of 1st place! Shannon Dineen raced well, finishing 3rd overall! Lia Penn and Osiris Macias did a great job working together, and delivered 7th and 9th place overall respectively.


Team scores: Knights 1st-26 points (Milks-1, Dineen-2, Penn-6, Macias-7, Carpenter-10). Clinton Central 2nd-29 points.

The Knights opened the season with victory at Sheridan Invitational, and completed regular season racing with victory at Clinton Prairie! Nice way to book-end the regular season young harriers!!
