Knights News · Knights sweep the Bronchos

Last night our volleyball program swept the Brochos at all three levels.  The Freshman team started things off by winning in two sets to zero with scores of 25-14,25-6. Tough service pressure and aggressive defensive play led to these lopsided scores.  This team continues to make positive steps forward each day.

Our Junior Varsity team was up next and built on the momentum started by the Freshman team.  Again strong serving and aggressive attacking was what the difference was in this match.  We were finally able to function at full strength and it showed, everyone on the roster played significant points throughout the match.  We won this match two sets to zero with the final scores of 25-12,25-14.

The varsity came out aggressive offensively but struggled from behind the service line. With that said we were able to secure a first set win 25-18.  The second set got off to a very rocky start and we had to battle from behind the whole time, eventually losing the second set 23-25.   After regrouping and making a couple line up changes we came out a little more aggressive and won the third set 25-16.  The fourth set we continued to battle ourselves a bit, but with great leadership from our floor captains we controlled the set winning 25-27.  This secured the match win three sets to one moving our season record to 8-2 on the year.

We will host conference opponent Twin Lakes this Thursday inside McHale Gymnasium.  Our Freshman team will host Lafayette Jeff on Thursday inside Eberle Gymnasium as well.  Both the Freshman and JV will start play at 6:00pm and the Varsity will follow the conclusion of the JV match.

GO Knights!!
