Coed Junior High Cross Country · Jr. High Knights Boys XC Team Wins the Clinton Prairie 4-Way Meet

The Knights continued to demonstrate great running at the Clinton Prairie Meet on 27 September. Clinton Prairie hosted Central Catholic, Clinton Central, and Sheridan, with 47 boys and 20 girls competing. The Knights enjoyed cool weather and a flat course, while securing a team win in the boys race, four PRs (personal records) and a team average of about 17 seconds off individual PRs!

In the girls race, team scoring was very close. While the Knights placed 3rd of the three teams, with a score of 42, they were one point off of 2nd place, and only 3 points off of 1st place!  Shannon Dineen led the Knights, with a 2nd place finish overall, and a PR of 13:37!  Elizabeth Cochran joined Shannon in the top 10, placing 3rd overall. Osiris Macias, Philomena Gillen and Eleanor Carpenter performed great and rounded out the scoring for the Knights.

In the boys race, the Knights demonstrated terrific running, winning the meet with a score of 29, followed by Clinton Prairie (49), Sheridan (72) and Clinton Central (74).  Kipp Pickerill and Rob Burton led the Knights, and finished 1st and 2nd overall by a comfortable margin.  Congratulations to Andrew Friel, the third Knight across the line, joining Kipp and Rob in the top 10 and posting a PR of 12:07! Josh Rogers was the fourth Knight across the line, placing 9th and helping put four Knights in the top 10.  Gavin Boutelle rounded out the top 5 scorers, with 12th place and a 12:51.  Terrific racing and grouping by Max Siemers, Josue Zamora, Noah Martin and Ryan Elsner, finishing 15th – 18th, within about 20 seconds of one another!  Additionally, Noah and Ryan were only 1 and 3 seconds of their PRs respectively. Congratulations to Josue, who posted a PR of 13:06!  Nathan Hall, Cullen Raderstorf and Jack Reisman ran strong and rounded out the finishes for the Knights. Great racing by Cullen continues, who improved his PR twice in the past two races. Today he posted a PR of 16:32!
