The Jr. High Knights Cross Country team displayed great performances at the Klondike Invitational on Tuesday, September 11. The contest included eight (187 runners) and nine (117 runners) participating schools in the boys and girls races respectively. After enjoying cool race temperatures at Rensselaer last Saturday, we were back to hot temperatures and hilly conditions at the Tippecanoe Amphitheatre. In these conditions, the Knights turned in great performances. We’re proud of their efforts.
In the girls race, the Knights placed 5th of 9 teams, with a score of 133. Only one point off of 4th place! Chloe Poindexter led the Knights, and won the race with a time of 12:20! Emily Milks, Shannon Dineen, Elizabeth Cochran and Osiris Macias ran strong and rounded out the top 5 scorers for the Knights. Great performance!
In the boys race, the Knights placed 5th of 8 teams, with a score of 135. Rob Burton led the Knights, placing 6th with a time of 12:07! John Rafacz, Andrew Friel, Gavin Boutelle and Max Siemers turned in great performances and rounded out the top 5 scorers for the Knights. Excellent running!
