Coed Junior High Cross Country · Poindexter and Pickerill pace the Knights to Victories at Central Catholic


The Jr. High Knights Cross Country team competed against Benton Central and Seeger on Tuesday September 4th. The girls won their three-way contest, while the boys set a perfect team score of 15, winning their dual contest against Benton Central. Excellent running by the Knights, on our home course!
In the girls race, Chloe Poindexter was the overall winner with a finish time of 12:35. The Lady Knights placed first of the three teams, with a score of 30. Benton Central placed second with 42 points and Seeger third with 57 points.  Emily Milks, Shannon Dineen, Liz Cochran and Osiris Macias ran well in the heat and rounded out the top five scorers for the Knights.  Philomena Gillen and Eleanor Carpenter ran strong and continued to build their experience, brining home 11th and 18th place respectively.
In the boys race, Kipp Pickerill won the race with a 12:05 finish and paced his teammates to a perfect score of 15 against Benton Central.  It was a very exciting race, as the blue shirts just kept coming! Rob Burton, Josh Rogers, John Rafacz and Andrew Friel placed 2nd through 5th respectively, rounding out the top 5 scorers for the Knights.  Additionally, Josh set a new PR of 12:56.  The strong running and excellent grouping continued, as Max Seimers, Nathan Hall, Gavin Boutelle, Ryan Elsner and Josue Zamora posted 7th through 11th place!  New runners Noah Martin and Jacob Buche ran strong and continued to build their experience, posting 13th and 15th place respectively. Veteran Cullen Raderstorf returned to action this year for the first time, with an 18:10 finish.  New runner for the Knights, Jack Reisman, debuted in his first race with a PR of 18:57!
