Boys Varsity Wrestling · A School Record 3 Wrestlers Advance to Semi-State

On Saturday at the Logansport Regional, 3 of the 5 wrestlers competing advanced to the East Chicago Central Semi-State next weekend.  106 Dominic Skees, 138 Dakota Skees, and 145 Jordan Turpin all finished in 4th place in their weight classes earning a trip to Semi-State.

106 Freshman Dominic Skees started the day by beating Jones of Logansport by pin fall.  He then faced top seeded Hein of Harrison losing 13-2.  Dom finished the day against Miller of Attica, losing a tough match 5-2 and securing 4th place.

120 Sophomore Isaac Switzer drew top seed Hickman of Rensselaer.  Isaac lost 18-3 finishing his season as a Regional Qualifier with a 26-12 record.

138 Sophomore Dakota Skees wrestled Ball of North White pinning him in 3:02 minutes.  He then lost to Linder of McCutcheon 18-2. Dakota placed 4th after losing to Fauber of West Lafayette.

145 Senior Jordan Turpin won a close match against Thomas of Logansport, leading 1-0 in the 3rd he managed to earn near fall points and hold onto a 4-0 victory.  He then went against Douglass of Attica falling at the 4:40 mark, getting pinned for the first time this season.  Jordan finished the day in 4th place losing to Saavedra 10-1.

152 Freshman Jesus Escalera wrestled Hoosier Conference opponent Dodt of Twin Lakes. Jesus wrestled hard but eventually fell to the senior wrestler at 2:40.
