Multiple Teams · Knights Sixth Graders Finish Sixth at Rensselaer


The Knights middle school cross county team competed at the 42nd annual Rensselaer Invitational on Saturday September 9.  This event features boys and girls races for each school grade.

Led by Kipp Pickerill, the Knights 6th grade boys team finished in 6th place out of 16 teams. Pickerill also took 6th place overall with a personal best time of 11:28. Teammates John Rafacz (12:26), Max Siemers (12:56), Josh Rogers (13:12), and Ryan Elsner (13:42) all set personal best times for the season at this race.

The 8th grade boys team finished 17th out of 20 teams.  Calvin Pickerill was the first Knight to finish with a PR time of 11:27.  Billy Owens (13:40), Logan DePew (14:02) and Donovan Bruce (14:31) all posted their best times of the season at this race.

The 7th grade boys didn’t have enough runners to score as a team. But Nathan Bapst broke 13 minutes with a time of 12:56, and Christian Clisby finished his first race as a Knight with a time of 17:58.

Hailey Cochran was the sole Lady Knight in the 8th grade girls race and ran a personal best time of 14:34.

Emily Milks was the first Lady Knight to finish for the 6th grade girls team with a personal best time of 13:38. Liz Cochran also broke 14 minutes for the first time with a finish time of 13:56.  Our newest team member Juliana Lechman finished her first race in 18:33.

Central Catholic will be hosting the CC Invite on Thursday September 14.  Around 500 middles school runners from around 20 area schools are expected to attend. The first race begins at 5:30 PM.
