The Knights middle school cross country team competed at the Indiana Middle School Cross Country Championships held at Northview Church in Carmel on October 1, 2016. This event hosts teams from the top cross cross country programs in Indiana. In the small school girls race, Audrey Cleveland was the first Knight to finish with a personal record time of 12:35. Teammates Clare Rausch (12:50 PR), Maria Vawter (13:41) Amelia Vinarcik (15:34) and Claire Potter (16:44 PR) scored 651 points for 26th place out of 29 teams.
In the boys race, Nick Burton weaved through the congested start and settled in to run a personal best time of 11:09. The next three Knights to finish also all ran their personal best times and finished in under 12 minutes: Seaton Garrett (11:29); Mark Cramer (11:43); Calvin Pickerill (11:49). The top seven were rounded out by Robbie Burton (12:50), Dylan Riley (12:57 PR) and Logan Torres (13:25). The boys team scored 582 points to finish in 20th place out of 39 teams that competed in the small school division.
Other Knights to finish the boys race included Billy Owens (15:19 PR), Joshua Randall 15:35, Christopher Justak 15:36, Tyler Thieme 16:17, Cullen Raderstorf (16:49).
This event completes a very successful season for Central Catholic’s middle school cross country program.
