The Class A, #13 ranked Lady Knights opened Sectional tournament play against the Lady Bisons. CC got on the board early as BC fouled CC along the sidelines in the 4th minute. Bobillo sent a driven cross into the box where Weeks was crashing. Rice was there for the block but the ball was kept low and squibbed underneath. Weeks followed in the shot to ensure the 1-0 lead. Martin would send in a high cross a minute later. The ball stalled in the wind making the catch appear easier than it looked. Rice dropped the ball and Pannell was there to tap in the finish. This would be the team’s 80th goal of the season. In the 13th minute, Bobillo would overlap into the box to pick up a weak clearance. She chipped a high ball over Rice far post. Again held up in the wind, Pannell was able to get there and drove a header into the net  This would be her 18th goal and break the CC single season record set by Megan Smith last year. Martin continued to send in great crosses from the wing. In the 27th minute, her cross was continued on by Bullock. Presutti would be waiting and put in her shot to up the score to 4-0. With 9 minutes remaining in the half, Martin made run inside to get a ball from the left. Dana Blichmann overlapped outside and when Martin’s shot was stopped by Rice up high in box, she calmly placed the rebound into the open goal. Bobillo would overlap again with a minute left, attacking outside the post. After crossing each time previously, the goalie anticipated another, yet Bobillo would seize the opening to blast her shot near post. CC would carry 6-0 lead into halftime. Julie Blichmann led the back line with 4 defensive stops and Siemers didn’t have to register a save. Knights had 14 of 21 shots on goal with Rice credited with 7 saves and one to a defender.

Second half began with Gerrety giving two great drops to Schafer and Weeks but they couldn’t beat Rice. Pannell would send in a cross from the right and Rice came out to save. High ball would again be difficult to handle and ball would deflect off defender and fall to Gerrety for hustle finish. Dana Blichmann would later make outside overlap and Rice came out wide in box to shut down first shot with sliding save. Blichmann tracked down rebound and slotted her next shot from tight angle into the open goal. In the 59th minute, Presutti would carry possession solo without a solid mark.
