Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Senior Knight produces 9-0 final home victory vs Lady Bison

The final home match for the seven seniors of the Class of 2015 would provide an opportunity for the newly crowned Hoosier Conference Champion celebration.  The Senior Knights would provide a preview of next week’s Sectional opener as BC traveled to LaRocca Field to take on the #13 ranked hosts. Senior Alana Newcomb would slow her run up top, allowing Senior Allison Martin space for inside run, taking through ball from Senior Maggie Bobillo to score first goal 3 1/2 minutes into the game. Newcomb would draw attention in the middle, setting up Martin release again, this time getting ball from Gerrety, and cutting all the way across the goal. She stopped in the box with two defenders and would reverse and return square ball to Gerrety overlap 36 seconds later to up lead to 2-0.  And only 100 seconds later, Bobillo would attack in the box and power in a shot to increase the lead. At the 14 minute mark, Senior Lauren Pannell attacked endline to pull goalie near post and Newcomb attracted two defenders near post. Pannell played deeper drop to Martin far post for another clinical finish. Several seniors subbed out and Kiracofe would get some minutes up top. Her initial shot popped up wide but was kept in play and returned back to her where she drilled low shot into the corner for first career goal by this defender. Pannell would take early distant shot in the late minutes that was saved, then continue touches on her next opportunity and tap in goal for 6-0 lead CC would take to halftime. CC would have 15 of 21 shots on goal with Bison defender header save and 8 saves from McKinnis. Siemers had 3 saves for the Knights with Senior Rachel Hutzel pacing the defense with 4 stops.

Second half would have seniors rest after Senior Knight celebration and visiting with coaches past and present. Wide run to endline from Gerrety would continue possession and drop would find Presutti who made well placed shot to up score to 7-0. Seniors returned for final home minutes and attacking mids would team up once more. Initial save would rebound up in the air, near post where crashing Pannell would direct header across the goal mouth instead of at waiting keeper. Header met Martin in stride at far post for another easy tap in. Last goal would again by initiated by Pannell possession on left side. Senior Dana Blichmann dragged on Newcomb’s forward run and when defenders again followed Newcomb, deeper drop was calmly placed far post for final senior assist (Pannell) and goal (Blichmann) at home.
