All remaining players from both teams would play in extra half of JV action Sept. 2 for Twin Lakes at CC. The Indians needed field players to step in after a goalie injury during the varsity match. CC’s Siener would have hard shot that was parried and Alana Newcomb, getting playing time after early season injury, would lead teammates with a rebound goal in the 6th minute. CC would pressure in front of the net and Preston would set up Harkcom in the 18th minute. Harkcom, also seeing game action for the first time this season, would finish for 2-0 lead. Minutes later, Bullock would send in a good corner that the Indians could not clear, allowing Harkcom to get another goal. With 9 minutes remaining, Korn would release Harkcom for a 1 vs.1 opportunity that she would complete for her hat trick and 4-0 lead. Yeaman would shoot on a cross and initial save would spin in as goalie fought to corral. The assistant referee signaled goal but center did not acknowledge. Final goal would come next with Kolo starting transition at midfield. Wide ball to Presutti would be taken endline, then crossed in front of goalie to find Yeaman again for tap in. Meyer was first up as team goalie for Indians and would earn 4 saves. while keeping initial score at 2-0 during her 18 minutes. Thayer would complete the final 22 minutes, earning 6 saves. Knights kept 13 of 19 shots on goal while the Weber led defense (7 defensive stops) kept Winningham from facing any shots or needing to register a save. TL led in fouls, 3-2, while CC had three corner kicks.
