Faith Christian School
The Knights played an close and competitive match against Faith Christian. For most of the first half, the game was back and forth in the midfield, with both teams playing strong defense and struggling to get quality chances. With 5 minutes to go before halftime, the hosts struck when Knights goalie Austin Taylor had to come out to challenge a ball on the right side of the box. The ball bounced outside the area in the center of the field, and midfielder Hernandez sent a low, powerful shot to the left side of the goal, unstoppable by Taylor.
The Knights had a chance to draw even late in the first half when a penalty kick was awarded for a foul in the box. The Eagles keeper was up to the task, guessing correctly on a shot to his right and saving the kick by Hutzel.
The second half was again a back and forth affair, with only a few clear chances. With 4 minutes to go in the game, a free kick from 30 yards by sharpshooter Milazzo nearly beat the Eagles keeper for the tying goal, but the keeper was able to get enough on it to tip it onto the crossbar and the Knights were unable to put the rebound in.
